Do your bands seem sluggish or not powerful? You need to tune your bands for best performance.
Your active band length is the distance from where the bands or tubes attach to the slingshot to the pouch.
To find your active band length, divide your draw length by 5. If you're not sure how to measure your draw length, you can check this guide.
For example, if your draw length is 30", your active band length would be 6" (30 ÷ 5 = 6").
This is generally the sweet spot for most elastics. If you shorten your bands beyond a factor of 5, you’ll get more velocity but at the cost of a shorter band life. On the other hand, if you increase the active band length, you’ll lose some speed but extend the life of the bands.
